Dear Friends,
Welcome back to Kamandalu Ubud February-March 2013 bi-monthly newsletter.
How fast does time fly. We are now already at the beginning of February of the new year. We are ever more excited with busy year this 2013. This month of February and March are still filled with many celebrations. The festive Chinese New Year is celebrated on 10th February while the Valentine's Day is always a special day to share our love with those loved ones in our lives.
On 12th March 2013, we will celebrate the Balinese Silent Day or "Nyepi Day". It is a 24 hour time of self-reflection before entering the new Balinese Saka Year. In observing Nyepi, many activities are restricted and this can be seen through out the whole island of Bali. During this period, one will be able to experience a series of rituals that will be perform prior to Nyepi. There is no better time to visit and experience Bali than in the months of February and March during those festive and religious celebrations.
Last, we would like to say thank you all for your past support. Wishing you a very prosperous new year in this Water Snake Year of the Lunar Calendar.
Sincerely,

Darmawan Pandoyo Drajat
General Manager

An Evening with the Masters |
|
On 23rd January 2012, amidst the tropical garden and cool Ubud breeze, famous classical pieces of John Sebastian Bach, Camille Saint-Saens, Beethoven and other famous composers became live and beautifully performed at Kamandalu Ubud by two world class masters of concert violinist and pianist. AykeAgus from United States and MartynasSvegzda von Bekker of Lithuania entertained the selected invited guests to their rare performance in Kamandalu Ubud as a part of their two week tour across Indonesia.
Ms. Agus is the last accompanist of the world renowned Russian violinist Jascha Heifetz and has performed numerous times with Heifetz as well as the great Russian cellist Gregor Piatigorsky. Mr. Bekker, at the age of 11, performed his first concert together with the famous Vilnius Symphony Orchestra. The two masters serenaded the tranquil evening while previously guests enjoyed delectable 4 course degustation Indonesian dinner with wine pairing. Their two hour string performance truly mesmerized |
