Galungan day Wednesday, 30 May 2018 When bamboo poles decorated with young coconut leaf embellishments start lining the streets of Bali, it means that Galungan Day is fast approaching. This auspicious occasion on the island’s cultural calendar marks the beginning of a 10-day religious festival celebrated by followers of the Hindu faith. Traditionally, Galungan also means a celebration with communal feasts and the making of elaborate offerings. On Galungan Day itself, everyone returns home to their ancestral villages to pray and reunite with extended family members. The underlying concept of this holiday is to commemorate the victory of good against evil. Over the following days, symbolic rituals are performed and similarly Kuningan Day involves a special ceremony with offerings made from yellow turmeric rice to honor the spirits of defied ancestors. |

Glow Flow Our Glow Flow event was a huge hit and even the rain couldn’t stop this fun collision of music and fitness. Group games got the party started followed by a Poundfit class that took energy levels up a few notches with a full body cardio workout inspired by the vibrant motion of drumming. In the break there was a face painting competition with prizes for three lucky participants. Then California-based wellness teacher Jacob Manning impressed everyone with his handstand skills during an uplifting session of glow-in-the-dark yoga. Live music from our band closed the event on a high note. |

Its a Small Village! Kurt J, New Zealand on TripAdvisor This place is huge, the grounds are well kept and every room is like it's own villa. The staff are so helpful and friendly. Facilities are amazing, breakfast is the best buffet I've ever had in a hotel. Food and drinks are priced reasonably well for a hotel even in Bali. Daily free yoga by the river every morning at 7:30. Shuttle buses into Ubud every hour and takes less than 10 minutes. More Reviews |
